ZTA Foundation Day of Giving

For the Founders. For the future. For each other.

Amidst the pandemic, ZTA staff and board members made a bold move to host a day of giving in October 2020.

Oct. 15 is the day ZTA was founded, so what better day to reach out to alumnae to ask for their support? The nostalgia hits every member pretty hard on Founders' Day and we always have a big celebration!

My roles in this campaign have been rewarding. I design and build a website, write copy for the site, direct and write social media posts, shoot and edit videos, train ambassadors via webinars, and am part of the weekly overall planning and strategy meetings in the months leading up to the event.

Results

Though the theme changes each year, one thing does not: the generosity of ZTA’s donors. Check out some of the stats below.

In 2020, we reached:

  • 1,402 donations

    • 220 first-time donors

  • $192,285 raised

Most recently, for the fifth annual Day of Giving in 2024, we:

  • 1,582 donations

    • 126 first-time donors

  • $359,036 raised

And the engagement online has been incredible over the first five years, including on these fun pieces of content:

Ambassador Training

One of my favorite aspects of this campaign is the Ambassador program. Zetas can volunteer to be Foundation Ambassadors, who help promote Day of Giving to their own personal audiences.

Each year, we provide graphics and sample content for them to use or emulate. During training, I help them understand their role and how they can engage their friends for Day of Giving. For example, for the 2023 “Sisterhood is Timeless” theme, I encouraged Ambassadors to share their own stories of timeless sisterhood, and they delivered, pulling on their friends heartstrings to remind them why donating to ZTA is a great way to give back.

Microsite

Each year, I create the Day of Giving landing page. It’s packed with information, videos and motivation to give.
